Adult and Teen Fundamentals
Ages 14 and up. Men and women. Written, proven curriculums for every rank, from your first class to black belt.
Who Trains Here
Most people who walk in have never done a martial art. Some played sports twenty years ago, some never did. Some are 14, some are 56. Fundamentals is built for all of them: one written path, one lesson at a time, on a mat where the tap is the rule and egos stay at the door.
Start at lesson one. No experience, no gear, no fitness requirement.
Wrestled in high school or trained years ago. Fundamentals gives you the structure you never had.
Train with adults under the same curriculum and the same rules of control.
The Path
Every level at Thunder Jiu-Jitsu runs on a written, proven curriculum. Beginners start on fundamentals: the positions, escapes, controls and submissions that everything else is built on. From there the curriculum keeps going, rank by rank, all the way to black belt. Every class is one lesson with a purpose, any class is a fine place to start, and you always know what you are working on today and what the requirements for your next rank are.
One lesson per class
Taught, drilled, then used under control.
Start any time
No waiting for a new cycle. Your first class is lesson one for you.
Requirements you can read
Stripe and belt standards are written and posted for every rank.

What a Class Looks Like
Warm-up, 10 to 15 minutes: the movements Jiu-Jitsu is built on, shrimping, rolls, bridging.
Technique: one lesson from the curriculum, shown, then drilled with a partner under close supervision.
Positional sparring: live, but from a set position with a set goal, so beginners learn under control.
Rolling: free training for those ready for it. Beginners are paired with the coach or an experienced partner. The tap stops everything.

Why It Sticks
You get in shape by solving problems with your body, not by counting minutes on a machine.
Learning to stay calm with someone on top of you changes how you handle everything else.
Small classes. Everyone knows your name by week two.
Private Lessons
Private lessons are built around you: your goals, your schedule, your pace. Whether you want to sharpen a specific position or you are brand new and want a head start before joining class, Coach Cliff will build the session around it.
