Professor Cliff Stewart


Coach Cliff began his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2006 at Easton Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Boulder, Colorado, where he trained for four years and earned his blue belt. After relocating to New Jersey, he continued his training for eight years at Gracie Humaita New Jersey under Professor David Adiv, receiving his black belt in 2017.
As a blue and purple belt, Coach Cliff actively competed throughout the New York and New Jersey area, earning several podium finishes at NAGA and Grapplers Quest tournaments. Since returning to Oklahoma in 2019, he has remained committed to the continual growth of his Jiu-Jitsu, training with Carlos Machado black belts at Raptor Jiu-Jitsu in Edmond, Oklahoma.
A lifelong athlete, Coach Cliff brings decades of coaching and competitive experience to the mats. Before dedicating himself to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, he was a highly ranked USTA tennis player, capturing numerous junior and open level titles in the Intermountain region. At Colorado State University, he served as team captain, played No. 1 singles, and earned All-Western Athletic Conference honors in 1993.
Coach Cliff spent eight years as a professional tennis instructor, coaching players of all ages and skill levels. His extensive background in athletics, competition, and teaching has shaped a coaching philosophy centered on technical excellence, discipline, and helping every student, from beginners to experienced competitors, reach their full potential.

Coach Cliff was never the biggest person on the mat. He teaches the leverage and timing that let a smaller, older or newer student control a bigger one.
